- What is a food rescue program?
A food rescue program picks up excess wholesome prepared and perishable food that would otherwise be discarded from caterers, corporate cafeterias, restaurants, and other commercial kitchens.
- Why?
Many people in our own backyard - in Bergen, Essex, Passaic and Hudson counties - do not know when they will have their next meal, yet each day we throw away tons of perfectly good food.
- Where is the donated food taken?
Food is transported in our refrigerated vehicles to food pantries, shelters, day care centers, agencies for victims of domestic violence, senior adult centers, soup kitchens, substance abuse rehabilitation programs, churches and agencies that help support the working poor, and other not-for-profit agencies that feed people.
- Who can help?

Anyone interested in fighting hunger can make a difference. We accept donations of money, time and of course, food. Caterers, restaurateurs, chefs, food service managers, and anyone in the food industry can donate food and services. And everyone can donate money to keep our trucks on the road and time to keep our administration costs low.

FOOD FACT: Unlike other food recovery organizations, the percentage of meat, fish and poultry redistributed by Table to Table more closely resembles that of a healthy and balanced American diet. |
