Greetings,
We hope you are enjoying your summer vacation and the quality
family time this season usually allows. In this issue, we focus on
the tremendous value of fundraising events that are run by other
organizations for the benefit of Table to Table. The work of these
organizations provides Table to Table with the additional time and
resources to concentrate our efforts on alleviating the growing
problem of hunger in our community. We salute these organizations
for their philanthropy and generosity, and we always welcome the
opportunity to partner with our friends in the community.

| Donor Focus: Elmwood Barn
Restaurant |
 |
The Elmwood Barn, a local restaurant featuring American
cuisine served in a charming country setting, offers lunch,
dinner, and a delicious Sunday brunch buffet, as well as on
and off-premises catering. Chuck Alessandrini and the
restaurant’s co-owners, Darlene Rutkowski and Jorge
Bustamante, sought out Table to Table as soon as the
restaurant began serving Sunday brunch. They became regular
weekly food donors because they felt they had to do something
other than discard fresh and wholesome food while so many of
their neighbors are hungry. Thanks to the Elmwood Barn and its
commitment to helping others, many hungry people who would
have otherwise gone without, are now enjoying a nutritious and
well-balanced breakfast every Monday morning.

Friends for Life is an HIV/AIDS support program serving
northern NJ adults and their families. FFL offers case
management and support groups in English and Spanish,
complementary therapies, day respite activities and speakers,
food pantry and breakfast and lunch on site, as well as vision
and dental care, art therapy, transportation and referral
services. With drastically reduced federal funding, FFL’s
Director, Judi Millian, describes Table to Table as a
“lifesaver” for its clients, saying that “Table to Table has
enabled some of northern New Jersey’s most vulnerable

Summer FUNdraisers
Palisades Financial, an investment banking and advisory
firm specializing in real estate and middle market companies,
hosted a “Summer Soiree” on July 14th at Knickerbocker Country
Club in Tenafly to benefit Table to Table. Participants were
treated to golf, cocktails, and entertainment. A raffle was
also held, and all proceeds (more than $18,000!) went to
benefit Table to Table. Many thanks to Palisades Financial and
its investors, clients, colleagues, and friends for supporting
this fabulous event.
Another creative fundraiser was hosted by Whole Foods at
their Edgewater location on Friday, June 24th. By grilling a
special menu for its customers and donating all proceeds to
Table to Table, this socially-conscious food retailer found a
way to stretch each meal, feeding both its customers, as well
as many hungry people in northern New Jersey.
Be on the Lookout!
The Table to Table Events Committee is busy planning an
exciting fall and winter season for our supporters. Be on the
